SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT TO BRING

We supply eating utensils, plates, pots and pans, linen, and one set of towels.  We have bait, gas and oil, beverages, beer and wine coolers, soft and hard ice cream, pizza, some food/snack items, hygiene items, and sun products.

We supply life vests free to boat renters but bring your own if you have a favorite comfortable life vest at home.  Let us know if you will be renting our boats so we can reserve them for you.

We try to make your cabin as comfortable as possible but remember that you are vacationing at a housekeeping lake resort so you may want to consider bringing the following for your additional comfort:

1. additional towels/washcloths/dish towels/paper towels

2. extra pillow/blanket/comforter if needed

3. charcoal/lighter fluid/matches

4. firewood (fire pits are provided on a "first come-first serve" basis)

5. picnic table cloth

6. camera film

7. sunscreen

8. hair dryers

9. coffee filters/coffee

10. extra pots/pans/tin sheets/baking pans/aluminum foil

Kids bring your favorite Playstation/Xbox/Gameboy games for the game room.

There is plenty of room in the large cabin refrigerators for food and refreshments.

The nearest shopping is in Emmetsburg (12 miles E) www.emmetsburg.com or Spencer (13 miles W)  www.spencer-ia.com  There’s a small convenience/gas store in Ruthven (3 miles).

The sun can be intense out in the middle of the lake, catching you from the sky and the water’s reflection, so be prepared.  If there is the possibility of rain, you can bring videos since the cabins all have VCRs. Wel have about 600 free movie rentals for rainy days.  We have a basement shelter for everyone, in the very unlikely event of severe weather.
